58 Vespa

I picked up a winter project a few months ago... not a VW, but a Vespa. It's a 1958 Vespa VNA1T 125cc piston ported 2 stroke with the original motor. I have since rebuilt the motor, had the frame sandblasted and started some body work.

I was originally going to leave the sweet patina, but have changed my mind and decided to go all out and make it pretty. I haven't decided on a paint color yet, but I am leaning toward a seafoam green.

I have found out that 58 was a transition year for Vespa.. Like a 67 VW, and parts are scarce! I was pretty lucky as this scooter was complete when I picked it up. Look for it at a campout near you this summer...

That Vespa is real cool, but not half as cool as that Elvis Lamp.

I'm more of a fan of the swordfish on the wall. It's pretty sweet.

Real sweet Josh. That's quite an eclectic collection of 50's memorabilia you have there. That Vespa will look real nice crusin' around KI this fall.

The progress is fantastic.........still cant figure out why you are repainting it? ;)

I love the patina, but I'm sure I'll love "finished" just as much. Just don't mess with that oval!

It really is the most logical choice when you factor the coolness -vs- lifestyle choice that you embody :D Plus you got your name proudly displayed on the front to let everyone know who the man is. Whatever color scheme you choose it will be a sweet ride when your through. Keep the updates coming.......

I took advantage of my 60+ degree day off and finally got to paint this thing. I decided to go with my 58 VW spirit and paint the Vespa sand green. Plus I still had some laying around from my old 58 bus. Came out nice.
