Looks really solid from the pictures. It's hard to find an SC that nice. Most of them were beat up from working and thrown away.

Its been a while since I have messed with this beast. I sprung a Transmission leak from somewhere on it, so I just let it sit for a bit. I was doing some de-gunking on the trans and couldn't find a crack on the nose cone, so I wasn't really sure where the leak was from. A little searching on the Samba lead me to a possible leaking coming from the right side of the trans from some fiber plugs that plugs up some holes for the shift detent ball and spring. I finally got the trans out this morning and found that the lower fiber plug of the 3 was missing and oozing oil. Now to plug them up and clean it up and reinstall and hopefully drive this f%cker yet this year.

nice Im pretty sure this is the same thing leaking oil on my camper...waiting for colder weather to pull everything apart.

Need to make some better/stronger brackets, but these work for now. They look good even though they are a mis-matched set of fog lights. It really helps at night.

I removed some parts off of a Ghia I am parting out and threw them on the Beetle last night. I have to finish wiring and adjusting the bracket, but it should hopefully work. Maybe I should have tested the switch before all this. I installed a speedometer operated reverse light set-up. It was an OE VW accessory. The switch screws onto the speedo and the cable threads into the back of the switch. It has two wires for the switch, on for a lead to the fuse block and the other for the power lead back to the lights. When you back up and the cable makes roughly 1 whole revolution, it moves a piece inside the switch creating a circuit to feed power to the rear lights. The lights are Hella and the switch still has the VW part sticker on it. If anyone has another cheap fog light bracket like that, let me know!

The light kicks on after a quarter front tire rotation! Woohoo!

Sweet almost makes that P O S Karmann Ghia you stole the parts from seem worth it now.
